Moto2: Diogo Moreira shines and conquers the pole in the Indonesia GP


Brazilian flies in the last lap and surprises that everyone conquers another pole in the season. David Alonso and Guevara Complete First Row




In the early hours of Saturday (04) the classification of the Indonesia GP was held. The Brazilian Diogo Moreira was the one who won the pole after nailed a beautiful and quick return of 1min32S341 in the last seconds of the session, being the fourth time that the pilot wins the company. David Alonso and Izan Guevara complete the front row.

The beginning of the Q1 characterized the fall of Mario Aji in the first ten minutes, causing the yellow flag in the first sector. Filip Salac was the one who took the command and therefore kept the last 30 seconds of the session, when

Alex Dig, Filip Salac, Izan Guevara and Celestino Vietti were the drivers who had qualified for the second quarter.

How was Q2

The session started very competitively, with David Alonso who took the tip of the table after making a beautiful round of 1min32S499. Manu González, the current leader of the championship, was about to open his first quick lap, but was interrupted by the yellow flag caused after the fall of Zonta Van der Gorbergh. The Spaniard managed to open his first lap in the next few minutes and took the second position.

The table leadership has not changed much during the session, but it was not for lack of will. Gonzalez, who was in second place, was improving his time in every lap, but it was not yet enough to let Alonso leave the pole.

Just over a minute from the end, Izan Guevara, who came from Q1, took second place and sent Gonzalez to the third.

Diogo Moreira, on the last lap, after the zero clock, took the position of the pole incrediblely, punishing 1min32S341. The Brazilian, who is fighting for the championship and is currently vice leader, has won his fourth position of the pole in the season.
