For the second season, The Bridgerton Chronicle follows the story of Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), the Viscount and the head of the family, and his meeting with Kate Sharma (Simon Ashley). Through eight episodes, the screenwriters narrate the romance of these two characters, which revolve in a way that does not confuse them.
At the end of the season, the main sequence – presented in Julia Quinn’s original novel – is missing: the wedding ceremony. And for good reason, the series finds the couple six months after their union and honeymoon. This absence has sparked a flurry of fans on social media who are even hoping to make a comeback in Season 3.
In an interview with TVLine Media, creator Chris Van Dussen justified his choice and explained that the scene would create a repetition with the marriage of Anthony and Edwina (Charitra Chandran). In the 6th episode, Viscount is going to marry the youngest Sharma and instead imagine her and Katie. The bride realizes this and leaves the place.
“As for the tone, we wondered how Kate and Anthony’s wedding would compareJustifies it. The Queen sponsored the wedding of Edwina and Anthony, she was not going to do it a second time. And then there is the connection between Kate and Edwina. Their relationship is as important as the love story of Anthony and Kate. ”
It’s still too early to know if Edwina will return in Season 3 – the future presence of Anthony and Kate has been confirmed. Still, the creator says he is proud to have made the character more complex than it is in the books.
In recent episodes Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) He even offers to meet Edvina’s nephew. To be continued. Filming for Season 3 has already been announced for the summer of 2022.
The Bridgerton Chronicle is available on Netflix.
