Pedro Neschling speaks of hearing problems: “It’s not a condemnation letter”

On September 26, the actor Pedro Neschling, who uses hearing aids, took advantage of the national day of people with hearing problems to share a personal message on the subject.

“Here in Brazil there are more than 10.7 million people who suffer from a hearing loss of a certain degree. And our disability is invisible, hence the importance of celebrating this date. In a society that pays little attention to differences, daily life can become very complicated for many of us, especially for those with more serious auditory losses,” wrote the actor.

Since he started to publicly face his condition, Neschling has stated that he received frequent reports from people who are ashamed to admit their disability or by family members concerned about the future of loved ones to whom he was diagnosed.

For him, disability should not be seen as a sentence: “Calm down! A disability is not a condemnation letter. It is just one of the countless characteristics that a person possesses,” he writes.

The actor was diagnosed with hearing loss at the age of 18, even if he adopted the use of hearing aids only later, after 30 years.

Pedro Henrique Dos Santos Neschling was born in Rio de Janeiro on June 28, 1982. He is the son of two personalities related to the world of the arts, the actress Lucélia Santos and the conductor John Neschling.

In addition to being the actor, he worked as a screenwriter and director of direction, as in the documentary “Timor Lorosae – or Massacre que or Mundo não Viu”, from 2013, directed by his mother.

During the 2000s he dedicated herself to television career. His first soap opera was “from Coro Do Pecado”, from 2004. In the plot he played Dionísio Sardinha, a character who made him know the general public.

Two years later, the program “Se Liga Na Busca”, aimed at young people who begin their professional career and seek orientation in the labor market, presented on the television channel via MultiShow.

The following year he plays the delicious Diogo in the soap work of the six “desejo proibido”, consolidating his presence in the television fiction.

In 2008, he gave birth to Pedro in the end of year special “Aline”, always on Globo, a production that had such success as to be transformed into a series the following year.

In 2012, Neschling wrote, directed and recited in the comedy “Como Nesse Pais”, focused on Luiz Eduardo, a character he played. The show has marked a more authorial phase in the artist’s career, combining text, direction and interpretation.

Three years later, he made his literary debut with the novel “Gigantes”, published by Edditara Paralela, a publishing house of the Compania Das Letras. The work portrays the path of five friends over the course of a decade. In 2018 he published his second book, “SuperNormal”, reaffirming his versatility as a writer.

In 2020, Neschling made his debut as a soap writer opera in “Salve-if Quem Puder”, written by Daniel Ortiz.

Two years later, together with Jovane Nunes and Victor Leal, he signs the screenplay for the cinematographic adaptation of the theater work “Hermanoteu Na Terra de Godh”. Among the feature films in which he recited there are “Tati’s diary”, “UM Werewolf in The Amazon” and “Um Homem Any”.

After a 11 -year break from the acting in Soap Opera, Pedro returned to the genre in 2024, interpreting Eriberto in “Renascer”. In the plot, he has a sentimental relationship with Eliana, played by Sophie Charlotte, in a role that has marked her return to TV in style.

Pedro Neschling was married between 2007 and 2009 with the singer Luiza Possibo, daughter of the singer Zizi Possibo. In 2010, the actor began a relationship with the artist Vitória Friar, a marriage that lasted a decade, until 2020. The couple of the couple, Carolina, on May 18, 2017, was born from this relationship.

After the end of the wedding, Neschling began a relationship with Chef Nathalie Passos, with whom he formalized the Union in 2023, in an intimate civil ceremony.

Outside the artistic world, Pedro is a jiu-jitsu practitioner. Sport has become one of its great passions and has already obtained three podiums in official competitions.
