Finally, the time of the premiere of one of the most anticipated productions of the year was revealed. According to Prime Video, the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be available to stream on September 1 at 10pm ET.

The remainder of the first season will follow a global release of one episode per week, premiered on Prime Video every Friday at 1:00 am ET. The episodes will be released simultaneously all over the world, so fans can experience watching them at the same time. The eight-episode first season finale will air worldwide on October 14.

Prime Video’s Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings heroic legends of the Second Era of Middle-earth history to the screen for the first time. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” and will take viewers back to an era where great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell in ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by thin threads, and one of the greatest villains ever to come out of Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover the whole world in darkness.

Beginning with a period of relative peace, the series follows a cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they face the dreaded resurgence of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of the elven capital Lindon, to the dazzling island kingdom of Númenor, to the edge of the map, these kingdoms and characters will create legacies that will live long after them.
