
Roadside Attractions has released the trailer for “Call Jane,” a true-to-life drama about a clandestine abortion network that operated in the United States in the 1960s.
The plot takes place in 1968, in a period before the legalization of abortion in the US, when the housewife played by Elizabeth Banks (“Charlie’s Angels”) learns from her doctor that she could die if she does not terminate the pregnancy. Because her abortion is legally prohibited, she finds an alternative in Jane’s self-styled group, led by the characters of Sigourney Weaver (“Avatar”) and Wunmi Mosaku (“Loki”), who fight for all women to have the option. to stop, regardless of your legal or financial status.
