THE Iron Maiden hasn’t released new material since Senjutsureleased in 2021, and the band’s creative future remains undefined. The divergence between the group’s main creative forces was evident in an interview in the October edition of the magazine Metal Hammerrevealing opposing positions on recording a new album.

Bruce Dickinson expressed interest in returning to the studio, motivated by the arrival of the drummer simon dawson instead of Nicko McBrain. The vocalist reported having shared this desire with Steve Harrisstating in an interview: “I said, ‘The drummer’s doing really well, isn’t he? Maybe we should make a new album’. But he grumbled and said, ‘I don’t have time.'” The bassist and band leader’s response reflects his current attitude towards the creative process, which he considers exhausting and demanding.
