Drag queen renowned in pop, but a fan of metal bands like Angra and Batushka, understands that musical genre is “super inclusive”, unlike what her professional colleague said

A recent statement from the pop singer Luisa Sonza about the current state of rock generated a lot of repercussion. It got to the point where another artist in the pop segment, Pablo Vittarcomment on the speech of a professional colleague.

The story began backstage at the São Paulo festival The Townat the beginning of September. On the occasion, Luísa told the portal Tracklist who disagrees with the supposed “death of rock” that many say has occurred. However, in his view, the old format of the genre in question is really over.

She stated:

“I don’t want the rock guy to like me. If you say ‘oh my God, rock is dead’… your rock is dead. Now it’s up to us to do what we want. And that’s it, I don’t want those fans. I want my gays, I want my women. I want the pop people, you know? Because we can do whatever we want.”

Pabllo, who has already demonstrated that he is a fan of metal bands such as Angra and Batushka, was invited to reflect on the statement during an interview with Yella Fávaro for TMDQA (via Igor Miranda website), backstage at another festival: Sweet Wonderin Rio de Janeiro. In the drag queen’s opinion, rock is “super inclusive” and has as its essence “being who you are, loving others and respecting them”.

“I think rock is super inclusive. I think the punk crowd… Punk is being drag, being who you are, loving others, respecting others. I think that’s the essence of rock. I think rock is quite inclusive in its entirety.”

According to Vittar, the fact that there are conservative fans in rock should not be decisive, as this type of thinking is present in all other styles. “Even in pop there is, believe me”, guarantees the singer.

“Of course there are people who are arbitrarily more conservative everywhere, even in pop there are, believe me, people. But I think rock is quite inclusive. I receive a lot of messages from fans when they see me wearing a t-shirt, posting a song.”
