‘Frankenstein’, the new film by the Mexican filmmaker, will be at the 49th Sao Paulo Film Festival
In an interview with the magazine Varietythe director Guillermo del Torocommented on the first of Frankenstein at the 49th Sao Paulo Exhibition and harshly praised Brazilian cinema, underlining its “constant rebirth” on the international scene.
“There has always been a huge vitality, generation after generation of filmmakers, and now they are finding new voices, new ways of connecting with the world without losing their unique cultural roots, and this is increasingly being recognized around the world,” said the Mexican director.
Guillermo also stated that the country “is recovering a role, is returning to being a protagonist in the global debate on cinema”.
New adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic, Frankenstein will have a limited screening in theaters starting October 23. Produced by Netflix, the film will arrive in streaming on November 7th.
