What is it?

One – one: Johnny and Yoko offers a unique and moving dive in the world of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, in the heart of the village of Greenwich, in the early 1970s.

One of the most legendary pairs of music history: John Lennon and Yoko Ono were immersed in archival documents. One – one: John and Yoko are not a comprehensive documentary on the couple’s life, but on the contrary, it focuses on the narrow period of the couple’s life (1971 – 1973), at a time when the only full concert was held together. This bias allows us to look at their history from a new corner, which is primarily focused on their artistic and political obligations.

Published audio recordings

The film is directed by Oscar winner director Kevin McDonald, accompanied by Sam Rice-Edward. Kevin McDonald’s has already been director some interesting music documentaries, such as Marley and Whitney. As in these previous documentaries, the film is very rich in information and anecdotes, thanks to in -depth research work.

We can hear completely unknown or previously unpublished audio recordings, especially telephone conversations, with intellectual and inventor reconstruction work.

The filmmaker chooses a more experimental approach than his previous films, more relied on more general archives since the 70’s. We see ads and political sequences with President Nixon.

It also allows you to see rarely restored images at one of the charity concert, which is given in Madison Square Garden in August 1972, accompanied by the original soundtrack, which is removed and produced by Sean Ono Lennon.

A special feature of the release of this documentary: it will only be visible in theaters for two days, on Friday 10 October and Saturday October 11.
