Bruno Rodrigues scared a ghost this Saturday (11th). The Palmeiras striker scored, with a header, San Paolo’s second goal against Juventude, in a match played in Allianz Park delayed from the 12th round of Brasileirão. So the number 11 broke a two-year fast without finding the net.

The 28-year-old player has experienced drama after two years and two surgeries on both knees. Bruno also had to deal with uncertainty about his career. I didn’t know if I would be back on the field again. He came back and scored.

“A lot of resilience. Concentration. Work. I thank everyone in the club. I thank the group, everyone who believed in me. Especially my wife, who was with me during two very difficult years for me. It’s over. Now it’s time to concentrate. I managed to have a good first half, all I wanted was to score a goal,” the Palmeiras native said at half-time on Saturday.



Then, when asked about the competition within the Alviverde squad, he replied: “It’s the affection, the respect I have for everyone. I know when to play and when to demand. Just be grateful. We still have 11 games in the Brazilian championship to reach our goal. Little by little I’m earning my space.”

This was his first match as a starter this season. During the celebration, moved, Bruno Rodrigues kissed his knees.

Bruno Rodrigues arrived at Palmeiras in December 2023, with a contract valid until December 2028 and with 80% of the rights belonging to the Sao Paulo club. At the time he had played two years for Cruzeiro, on loan from Tombense.
