And he gave his rival no peace. Reigning on the ground, his greatest specialty, the former lightweight champion crushed his opponent on the ground in every way, in a “class” that ended with a submission victory, his 17th in Ultimate, further establishing himself as a leader in this regard within the organization

The fight

Charles started the fight with a good combination, with Gamrot responding with a takedown attempt, which nearly ended in a guillotine from the Brazilian. The Pole was trying to prevent the greatest finisher in Ultimate history from having a chance to put himself in the right position to try and end the fight.

After attempting the omoplata, the Brazilian went behind his rival, facing the Pole’s strong defense, even complaining that he was trying to hold back his fight, which is not allowed by MMA rules. A choke from behind by the Brazilian doesn’t give the desired result and he remains glued to Gamrot

Pushed by the Rio fans, Charles do Bronx suffered initial pressure from the Pole, who used combinations to try to attack, and responded with a counterattack that annoyed his opponent. A strong sequence of punches from the Brazilian would end up resulting in a takedown, which would help towards the end of the bout.

Quickly, the Brazilian managed to take the hooks, set up the position and get the rear naked choke, which Gamrot couldn’t resist and tapped three times to abandon the fight and give Charles the victory. After the match, the Brazilian went among the fans at the Farmasi Arena to celebrate another triumph.
