‘A Lawyer Extraordinary’: Netflix’s new South Korean hit

The legal drama “A Lawyer Extraordinary” was Netflix’s most viewed non-English language series for five weeks. This is a new phenomenon of the South Korean platform.

Just last week, the attraction had 69 million hours watched. The average has continued to grow since its launch on July 13, when it debuted with 24 million hours viewed, bringing its total audience to 288.6 million hours.

With that, the production entered the Top 10 Most Watched Non-English Series of All Time on Netflix. He made his chart debut this week at number 8, ahead of “Elite 3” (275.3 million hours) and just behind “Lupine” (316.8 million hours).

For its plot, the series can be considered a kind of variation of “The Good Doctor” with lawyers.

The title extraordinary attorney has autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and is starting his career in a large law firm. He has an extremely high IQ of 164, exceptional memory and creative thinking, but suffers from low emotional intelligence and poor social skills. As a result, many see her as a strange person, creating some obstacles in her life.

The role of lawyer Woo Young-woo is played by Park Eun-bin, a well-known dramatic actress who recently starred in the costume series “The King’s Affection”, also available on Netflix.
