Brazil’s candidate for the 2026 Oscar, new feature film by Kleber Mendonça Filho (Bacurau), starring Wagner Moura (Civil War), premieres in November

Vitrine Filmes announced, this Monday (13), the start date of pre-sales of tickets for The Secret Agentnew film by Kleber Mendonça Filho (Nightjar) starring Wagner Moura (Civil War), which hits Brazilian cinemas in November.

On social media, the distributor revealed that tickets for the film, tipped to represent Brazil at the 2026 Oscars, will be available from next Thursday, October 16th, directly at the cinema chains’ box offices or via the website Ingresso.comresponsible for online ticket sales. Check out the ad:

What is the story of The Secret Agent?

In The Secret Agent, Marcelo (Wagner Moura) is a university professor, who flees to Recife to escape government agents who are looking for him for subversive activities. However, upon arriving in the city, where he believes he is safe until he can flee the country with his young son, he discovers that he has been sworn to death by an old enemy.
