Wall Street opens lower due to tensions between the US and China; investors analyze banking results

Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Tuesday after renewed trade tensions between the United States and China soured sentiment, while investors also scanned results from major banks as they kicked off the third-quarter earnings season.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.42% to 45,871.89 points at the opening. The S&P 500 lost 0.78%, to 6,602.49 points, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.35%, to 22,388.043 points.
