In a few days, Morfid Clark’s name will be known to everyone. The 33-year-old British actor has indeed been chosen to play Galadriel in The Rings of Power, which takes place several millennia before the plot of The Lord of the Rings. However, the latter had no idea of the role he was playing, as he revealed to our colleagues variety :
“I knew I was auditioning for an elf, but I didn’t know which one. My sister and I tried to figure out the character, but I never imagined it could be Galadriel.” He commented on the latter with humor and added that after learning that he got the role, he lost his mind.
In addition to the prestige of the role, Morfid Clark also has the difficult task of replacing Cate Blanchett, the interpreter of Galadriel in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies, signed by Peter Jackson. A huge fan of cinematic license, the young actor still did not dare to contact the senior to discuss the role.
I don’t care, this new version of Galadriel – younger and more warlike than in the movies – can be seen in the TV series The Rings of Power, which will be broadcast on the Amazon Prime Video platform from September 2!
