Actor revealed he had his skull “crushed” to save him from a stroke in 2012
Tim Currystar of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and It: A Masterpiece of Fear (1990), revealed that he had to undergo an extreme procedure after suffering a stroke in 2012, which left him with lifelong consequences.
In his memoir, Vagabondthe actor says that the stroke occurred while receiving a massage at home. “I felt a little unwell, but I didn’t think it was anything serious.”remembers. When he noticed that something was wrong, the masseur called emergency services, which helped prevent the problem from becoming even bigger: “I probably owe my life to the fact that he ignored me and followed his instinct.”
At the hospital, Curry he had to undergo an emergency craniectomy, in which part of the skull is removed to relieve pressure on the brain, which was inflamed. “My skull was literally crushed to save my life.”account. “It wasn’t the best look, but I was alive. That’s what mattered.”
The stroke affected the right hemisphere of Curry’s brain, affecting motor control on the left side of the actor’s body. “I could understand the words, but it was difficult to process them. Life was extremely slow and uncertain for a long time”he adds. “It’s a lot to process. All I can feel today is gratitude for still being here.”
