After the victories in Monza and Baku, the Red Bull driver returns to the race and believes he can catch up with Norris and Piastri in the last six races
Max Verstappen believes his chances of winning the 2025 title are “50/50”. The Red Bull driver returned to the fray after a series of good results, which included victories in Monza and Baku and a second place in Singapore. Now the gap from Oscar Piastri has dropped to 63 points, and from Lando Norris to just 41.
During the press conference in Austin, Verstappen demonstrated optimism, but also realism. “We will try, for sure. The last few weekends have been very good, some better, some less. In Singapore, for example, we didn’t maximize the potential of the car, but we analyzed everything and tried to improve. That’s what we will do here too,” he said.
The driver also commented on his confidence in the possibilities: “Believing or not in the title doesn’t change anything, the important thing is to be realistic. For a good part of the year we didn’t participate in this race, but now we have achieved good results”, he assessed.
Even without getting carried away by the mathematics, Verstappen remains confident in his own performance: “When the car is fast and competitive, I can be there. It’s that simple.”
