HBO Max has posted on social media the first photos and a teaser of the second season of “The White Lotus”. The short preview reveals that the new episodes will take place on the island of Sicily in Italy.
Originally conceived by writer-producer Mike White (“School of Rock”) as a miniseries, the attraction was highly regarded by critics and became a hit on HBO Max. Faced with the repercussion, the platform chose to turn it into a annual series, serving as an anthology with new characters each season.
In its second season, “The White Lotus” will introduce a new group of guests to a different unit of the fictional hotel chain The White Lotus. Instead of showing the rich staying in a luxury resort in Hawaii, the storyline will follow American tourists on vacation in Europe.
The cast will bring back Jennifer Coolidge, who shone in the first year of production as Tanya McQuoid. Now he will be on vacation in Sicily, where he will meet new characters played by Aubrey Plaza (“Legion”), Michael Imperioli (“The Sopranos”), F. Murray Abraham (“Patria”), Tom Hollander (“Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation “), Theo James (” The Time Traveler’s Wife “), Haley Lu Richardson (” Five Feet Apart “), Will Sharpe (” Giri / Haji “), Adam DiMarco (” The Order “), Meghann Fahy (” The Bold Type “) and Leo Woodall (” Cherry “), among others.
There is no release date for the new chapters yet.
