1- Return to the future
In 1985, an entire generation was immersed in the magic of spectacular and futuristic adventures. In this first part of the cult saga we meet Marty McFly, a young man whose only concern is his family and director. But when one evening he accompanies an eccentric Professor Brown – in short Dr. – trying to travel through time, things go wrong. March finds herself in the past and even interrupts her parents’ meeting, a mistake she must quickly correct.
Intellectual and innovative, Back to the Future is a clever blend of action, science fiction, humor, suspense, and coup d’etat, driven by explosive adventures full of thrilling storytelling and engaging and memorable characters we no longer represent. A temporary epic that must be lived or endured absolutely.
2- Ready player first
In 2045, to avoid chaotic reality, humans now live only in OASIS, a virtual world created by eccentric genius James Halliday. But when the latter dies, a video is published in which his last wishes are: whoever finds the Easter egg that he has carefully hidden, will inherit his property and control the OASIS. A planetary competition has begun. Then young Wade Watts decides to take part in this unusual but dangerous digital treasure hunt.
Lovers of science fiction and all kinds of Easter eggs, this movie is made for you! The adaptation of the homonymous novel Ready Player One is a giant tribute to pop culture, signed by Steven Spielberg. The film with a hundred hidden references is a mysterious nostalgic journey between the real and the virtual, a spectacular retro experience to discover if you haven’t done it yet, or to watch it again after all its clever blink of an eye.
3- Catch
In Snatch, everything revolves around a stolen diamond, which different characters try to appropriate. While in London, with a diamond in his pocket, Frank suspects nothing when Boris takes him to bet on secret boxing, in a trap that’s going to steal a gem from him. Turk and Tommy are the organizers of the fake boxing under the ruthless gangster’s thumb. They have a problem: their boxer Mickey refuses to lose the fight. The meeting of these two intrigues is then explosive and insane.
Snatch is a great guy from Guy Ritchie, a nervous and sarcastic comedy with an effective editing and original soundtrack, but it is also a gallery of characters, each crazy and lots of actors – Jason Statham, Brad Pitt and Benicio. Del Toro – Perfect for their incarnation.
4- Catch me if you can
The action takes place in the 1960s, Catch Me If You Can, depicts the real hunt for Frank Abanille Jr. by FBI agent Carl Hanrat. In this comedy-drama by Steven Spielberg, the young Frank, the undisputed master of fraud, is ruthlessly pursued by an experienced agent and is among the ten most wanted men in the United States. But criminally rewarded, he continues to slip through his fingers and have a lot of bold identities.
Between laughter and emotion, the strength of the film is its face-to-face, strong relationship between duty and respect, cat and mouse play perfectly produced and interpreted. And to assure you, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks are at their peak.
5- Mad Max: Fury Road
In a sterile and ruthless post-apocalyptic world where people are fighting for water and gas, clans, gangs and tyrants reign mercilessly. Max is a lone survivor who wanders in this endless desert with no specific purpose, until the day he is captured by the enemy. Here he, despite himself, began a furious pursuit between the barbarian commander and his army and his former right-hand man, Emperor Furiosa. A rebellious woman in search of her native land really betrayed him and ran away from the citadel with her most valuable belongings.
High-octane sci-fi movie, Mad Max: The Road to Wrath is the fourth installment of the franchise. This time Tom Hardy plays the title role, accompanied by the master Charlize Theron, who even steals the show. This film by George Miller, crowned with six Oscars, is an exciting and unbridled technical achievement, the challenges of incomparable visual beauty and an effective and powerful script: elevated extraordinary chaos that is, of course, unacceptable.
6-Shrek
Once upon a time there was a green og who lived happily in his humble swamp. But when the creatures come to disturb his peace, to invade his beloved lands, he has no choice but to make an agreement with Lord Farquad. His mission is to free Princess Fiona, who is imprisoned in a tower guarded by a dragon, in order to marry a vicious lord to her. In return the latter will free his precious swamp. Thus begins the cynical ogre, accompanied by a talking donkey, a search that will never cease to test him.
But beware, Shrek is not a classic fairy tale, but a funny parody of all its magical stories that shook our childhood. The flagship production of DreamWorks Studios, he is the first to receive an Oscar for Best Animated Feature and marks the beginning of the legendary saga that has been making us laugh for over 20 years.
7- Monty Python, Holy Grail
The iconic figures of British television, the Monty Python troupe, returned to the big screen in 1975 with this bizarre medieval comedy, purposeful and presumably low budget style and heavy English humor. In this feature film, the comedians touch on the legend of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their search for the famous Grail.
But here obviously nothing serious: absurd scenes, unusual jokes, cult lines, not to mention his epic battles (or almost), the Holy Grail is essential in a genre that is recognized by both critics and the public. It’s a weird, fun, crazy and eternal adventure that starts with his crazy credits. A sincere laugh without pretensions and logic: This is a guaranteed laugh.
