Artist, who is on the Lollapalooza Brasil 2026 lineup, has already raised more than US$400,000 for the new non-profit organization, “The Midwest Princess Project”
Chappell Roanone of the biggest current pop phenomena and confirmed name at Lollapalooza Brasil 2026, announced the launch of his own non-profit organization, The Midwest Princess Project. The initiative aims to provide direct support to young trans and LGBTQIA+ communities in the United States.
“I’m so excited to announce The Midwest Princess Project”he said Roan in a statement. “These funds will be donated to incredible organizations making a positive impact for trans youth in their communities.”
The project was born with a robust cash flow: more than $400,000 (around R$ 2.2 million reais) were raised through ticket sales for their pop-up shows, the tour Visions of Damsels & Others Dangerous Things. The tour has already featured representatives from several partner organizations, including the Ali Forney Center in New York, the Trans Wellness Center and TransLatin@ Coalition in Los Angeles, and the GLO Center in Missouri.
On Instagram, Roan detailed the donation process, ensuring that, “in addition to transaction fees […] we commit to donating every dollar possible to the organizations that need it most.”
This is not the first time that Roan uses its platform for philanthropy. After her speech at this year’s Grammys, where she demanded decent salaries from record companies and health plans for artists, she inspired a wave of donations to Backline, an NGO focused on the mental health of music professionals.
The singer explained her motivation at a recent show at Rose Bowl: “I always asked myself, ‘Why am I going through this? (…) I feel so out of place in public.’ And then I started playing shows again, and it all made sense: it was to literally bring queer joy and tell them it’s okay.”
