The reunited rock band has shared three new tracks — “Private,” “OMG” and “Lovebomb” — ahead of the LP’s release
The Neighborhood will reveal a new album, (((((ultraSOUND))))) (2025), on November 14th by Warner Records — the band’s first studio LP in five years. The announcement comes after the group revealed in August that they had reunited in November 2024 after a three-year hiatus.
Ahead of the album, the musicians shared three tracks: “Private”, “OMG” and “Lovebomb”. “Private” was built around a drum beat and vocals from GarageBand that the vocalist Jesse Rutherford recorded on his phone. Already “Lovebomb” was created from a loop of Jono-and-Abels.
According to a press release, (((((ultraSOUND))))) (2025) “signals a powerful return to the band’s roots” and draws “Brit-pop inspiration while maintaining their signature Californian indie sound.” The statement adds that, “lyrically, the album is intimate and self-aware, exploring heartbreak, disillusionment and emotional vulnerability with a maturity that reflects the band’s artistic growth.”

In August, The Neighborhood shared a post on Instagram Story announcing that the group — including the drummer Brandon Fried — had gathered. “In November 2021, after ten years together, The Neighborhood has entered an indefinite hiatus,” the band wrote. “As we entered our 30s, we encountered life outside of the band for the first time in our adult lives. Breakups, family struggles and personal challenges.”
The band — originally composed of vocalist Jesse Rutherfordthe guitarists Zachary Abels and Jeremiah Freedmanthe bassist Michael Margott and Fried — added that the drummer is returning after being expelled for harassing Maria Zardoyafrom The Mariasat the end of 2022. “We are proud to Brandonthe changes he has made and the progress he continues to make in his life,” they noted. “Being in each other’s lives for over 20 years, when one of us is going through something, it impacts all of us.”
The latest release of The Neighborhood before the hiatus was Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones (2020), in September 2020. Since then, Rutherford released two albums: &ONE (2023) and Jesse (2024).
