Actress Neve Campbell has already defined her next job after refusing to return to the “Scream” franchise. She will star in “Avalon,” a new series from mega-producer David E. Kelley for the US network ABC.
The title is the name of a town on Catalina Island, California, where Detective Nicole “Nic” Searcy (Campbell) runs a small police station.
Tourist destination, Catalina receives more than 1 million visitors a year and every day a ferry docks on the island with new life stories. One of these days, the detective becomes embroiled in a mystery that she will define her career, challenging everything she knows about herself and the island.
It is worth mentioning that Kelley already has a series of female detectives currently airing on ABC: “Big Sky”.
“Avalon” is inspired by a short story by Michael Connelly, marking the second time the producer has adapted the writer. The first was the series “The Lincoln Lawyer” on Netflix, which also stars Campbell.
Busy, the actress is still expected in the 2nd season of “The Power and the Law” and is in the cast of the adaptation of the series based on the game “Twisted Metal”, in development for the American platform Peacock.
