Yesterday was a pleasant surprise: during an interview for a Netflix movie called Jay Kelly, George Clooney himself announced his participation in the movie Ten Percent, which will also be distributed on the platform.
Already highly anticipated, the film promises to be even more fascinating. Now we’re learning from Variety that Eva Longoria is in talks to star in the Mediawan-produced film.
Even if Netflix did not want to comment on information about Eva Longoria, the platform confirmed the participation of Clooney along with French actors, including Laurent Lafitte (Count of Monte Cristo). As previously announced, the cast will also include Leticia Casta and Vincent McCain.
The return of the popular franchise around the world
The feature film, simply titled Ten Percent, will see the return of the series’ much-loved cast (winner of the International Emmy Award), including Camille Cotin as the bold and funny Andrea Martel, as well as Laure Calam, Grigory Montel, Thibaut de Montalembert, Nicolas Maury, Nicolas Maurin, Ophelia Colby and Anna Marivin.
The series ended in 2020, after four seasons, on a bitter note, with Andrea deciding to retire from the entertainment world to devote herself to family life and mourning the fate of ASK, the art agency she failed to save.
Written by series creator, screenwriter and showrunner Fanny Herrero, the film picks up five years later, with Andrea returning to the industry, but this time behind the camera as an emerging director. But it’s still drama, as always in Andrea’s world. “When he loses his lead actor just days before filming, he must reunite his old team, rekindle old friendships and rivalries.“, – explains in the synopsis.
Ten Percent has also become a cultural phenomenon, spawning local versions in several A-list countries, including the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Indonesia, the Middle East, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Poland.
