John Williams’ soundtracks to Steven Spielberg’s greatest films have touched the lives of millions of movie fans. Friends for more than 50 years, the two men worked together twenty-nine times. The legendary filmmaker’s new film, scheduled for summer 2026, marks their thirtieth artistic collaboration.

Damian Woetzel, director of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, revealed the news during a composer-focused event on Monday evening: “John Williams is in Los Angeles doing what he does best. He’s working with Steven Spielberg on his next film, and that’s great news.

The statement issued by journalist Doug Adams did not go unnoticed in the social network. If rumors of retirement swirled around John Williams – at the age of 93 – the musician continues to be friends with the respected Steven Spielberg.

In 2024, a documentary focusing on the life of John Williams, Music By John Williams, was released on the Disney+ streaming platform.

Expected on June 10, 2026, the Hollywood director’s new feature film remains a mystery. While its title has not been officially revealed, we just know that the plot is based on aliens.

Written by David Koepp – the screenwriter of Jurassic Park – the film will be directed by Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer), Josh O’Connor (The Challengers), Colman Domingo (Euphoria) and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech).
