Omoda 5 and Omoda 7 arrive in Brazil with aggressive prices compared to BYD and GWM

The new Omoda 5 HEV and Omoda 7 SHS hybrids arrive in Brazil with prices starting from R$ 159,990 and promise up to 1,200 km of autonomy

Omoda & Jaecoo, a Chery Group brand, has just launched the new Omoda 5 HEV and Omoda 7 SHS in Brazil. The duo arrives equipped with hybrid systems and bets on the cost-benefit ratio to compete with the models of the BYD and GWM brands. Now available at the Chinese automaker’s dealerships, the Omoda 5 HEV starts at R $ 159,990, while the Omoda 7 SHS starts at R $ 254,990.

Omoda 5 SHS-H hybrid

The Omoda 5 Hybrid SHS-H is the hybrid version of the Omoda E5, and brings changes to the front appearance thanks to the combustion engine. It is equipped with a 224 HP 1.5 turbo full hybrid engine and will be positioned as the “entry” of the range. The trunk capacity is 300 litres. Inside there are two 12.3” screens for the digital panel and multimedia center, as well as a 50W wireless charger for smartphones.

Omoda 7 plug-in hybrid

The Omoda 7 debuts in Brazil as the brand’s premium SUV. At the front, the highlight is the frameless front grille with a futuristic design. Among its distinctive features are: 15.6″ sliding central screen with cutting-edge resolution of 2.5K; rechargeable fragrance system, with 3 fragrances and intensity; safety package with up to 8 airbags and ADAS 2.5 package, among others.
