Tom Holland and Zendaya recount how the actor caught Peter Parker’s interpreter’s botched stunt on the set of ‘Spider-Man: Out of Home’.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the recent box office records, marking the third Spider-Man adventure played by Tom Holland. In this new opus, MJ’s (Zendaya) character gets more on-screen, and obviously…she got something on set!
Indeed, the actor allowed his friend to avoid falling while performing the stunt. At the beginning of the film, their characters have to go from rooftop to rooftop thanks to a line of superhero canopies, and Zendaya, guest, narrates the rest. The Graham Norton Show :
Spider-Man has to make us fly until we get to the bridge. (…) He should gently put MJ on the deck and leave. And because of our size difference, we weren’t on the same level. (…) We were attached and I sat down in front of him because my feet touched the ground in front of him!
And this is Tom Holland, who ends the anecdote and explains the problem:
“When you do stunts, there’s something called a low mark, which is designed to keep you from destroying your knee. So Zendaya had to come down, and I’m a superhero, I have to be the one who looks good. She was coming and I had to come, but My legs were slipping and he was picking me up and I could hear “CUT!”

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, the friendly neighborhood hero goes undercover and can no longer separate his normal life from his heavy superhero responsibilities. When he asks Doctor Strange for help, the stakes become even more dangerous as many supervillains from other universes come face to face with Peter.
Thanks to a clever mix of nostalgia, fan service and novelty, the feature film allowed Sony and Marvel Studios to share $1.9 billion in revenue. Thus, No Way Home became the third best Marvel box office behind Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
