Bonner’s farewell to ‘JN’ coincides with the anniversary of Renata Vasconcellos’ debut on the bench

The release of William Bonner From National newspaper this Friday, October 31st, marks an interesting coincidence: on this very day, in 2014, Renata Vasconcellos he debuted as a news anchor, taking over the position he had Patricia Poet.

The coincidence was told live by Bonner himself. He said on the air that one of the editors of the JNIsabella Guberman, notified him of the anniversary. “It’s very beautiful,” replied Renata, who then spoke about the hosts’ mission to honor the program and the viewer.

The farewell

Bonner’s farewell took place last Friday in the last block of the Jornal Nacional, when he and Renata welcomed César Tralli, the new anchor of the newspaper.

“The day has come. Two months after the announcement, I am ending this cycle,” Bonner said, before recalling the reasons for the decision. In September, when he announced his departure, he he said that his children motivated the choice and that “the account could not be closed”.

In good spirits, Bonner remembered Cid Moreira, a veteran who was at his side when he sat down for the first time at the newsstand, to follow Sergio Chapelin’s holidays, and said that he would not cry when he said goodbye. At the end of a conversation between him, Renata and Tralli, Bonner said his last “goodnight” as host of the JN.
