Ex-Arsenal sacked in Mexico for lack of training and search for a lost dog

Despite being announced as an important reinforcement for the season by the Mexican club, Aaron Ramsey suffered a serious muscle injury at Pumas

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey has signed a contract with Pumas, from Mexico, after playing just six games. The 34-year-old Welshman signed in July but has not featured since September as he recovers from hamstring surgery. His participation was limited to three games as a starter, far from the expectations generated with his purchase.

In addition to physical issues, Ramsey faced a personal crisis off the field: the disappearance of his dog Halo. He published several posts on social media asking for help to find her. And he also missed Puma’s training while looking for her. This fact would be the straw that broke the camel’s back for the leaders.

The Pumas, currently in 13th place in Liga MX, will now have to look for reinforcements or adjust their squad to try to secure a place in the top ten of the table and reach the playoffs with two games still to play.

Ramsey began his career at Cardiff City, won three FA Cups in 11 seasons at Arsenal and also had a spell at Juventus, where they were Serie A champions. He also has 86 caps for Wales and was recently called up after more than a year’s absence, but withdrew due to injury.
