British singer promises consequences after flare incident that put audience at risk during band’s historic Melbourne show
Liam Gallagher harshly criticized a fan who threw flares during the show Oasis in Melbourne, Australia, at Marvel Stadium on Friday, calling the person a “seriously fucked up individual” in a social media post about the incident.
“To the big ASSHOLE who threw that flare into the crowd last night at the Melbourne show, you are a seriously f*cked up individual and you will get what you deserve, trust me,” Gallagher published on social platform X after the presentation.

Flares were released during the finale with “Champagne Supernova” of the band on the first date of the Australian leg of the tour. (They perform today, November 1st, and November 4th at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, before heading to Sydney to play Accor Stadium on November 7th and 8th.)
In video footage filmed during the sold-out show, a flare could be seen rising into the air, apparently launched from within the crowd, and then fell into the crowd in the dance floor area. Flames broke out at the scene soon after. Then, another flare can be seen rising and falling into the nearby crowd.
According to one concertgoer, there were two flares he witnessed being fired. The person identified as Virginia told the Australian outlet News that she saw a flash, and soon after another was fired.
“Every time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire, and then it was contained quickly,” Virginia, who attended the band’s debut show in Australia with her family, told the outlet.
She added: “I was there with my 13-year-old daughter, so when that happened, I thought it was bad and I thought we were going to leave before the end of the song and try to get out there.”
It is unclear how the flares were brought into the stadium. Virginia confirmed that security checked bags and that concertgoers were scanned before entering the venue.
According to the 9News In Australia, police in Victoria — the state where Melbourne is located — said the incident was not reported and there were no arrests. Marvel Stadium told 9News that no one was injured. “We will leave official comments until the publication of Liam Gallagher“, added the local.
