About The Pretty Reckless
Formed in New York in 2009, The Pretty Reckless has Taylor Momsen on vocals and rhythm guitar, Ben Phillips on lead guitar, Mark Damon at the bottom and Jamie Perkins on the battery. To date, four albums have been released, with emphasis on the most recent, the praised Death by Rock and Roll (2021).
Before focusing on her music career, Momsen, who is now 32 years old, worked as an actress. Some of his prominent roles include Cindy Lou Who in the film The Grinch (2000) and Jenny Humphrey in the series gossip Girl (2007-2012).
In 2009, she founded The Recklesswhich would soon be renamed The Pretty Reckless and had another lineup very different from the one established the following year. The arrival of Ben Phillips was decisive not only for the guitar, but also for the role of composition partner, through the producer Kato Khandwala (blondie, Paramore, My Chemical Romance etc), died in 2018.
The group’s debut album, Light Me Upcame out in 2010 and had repercussions due to the song “Make Me Wanna Die”included in the film’s soundtrack Kick-Ass: Breaking Everything. Since then, the group has accumulated achievements such as reaching 5th position on the American chart with the album Going to Hell (2014), 6th position on the British chart with Death by Rock and Rollplatinum single in the US and Canada with “Heaven Knows” and eight achievements in 1st place in the American Mainstream Rock singles ranking, focused on the aforementioned genre.
Throughout its history, The Pretty Reckless came to Brazil twice. The first visit took place in 2012, as part of the The Medicine Tour. The second trip took place in 2017, amid the commitments of the album tour Who You Selling For.
The relationship between AC/DC and The Pretty Reckless was established when Taylor Momsen’s band was cast as the opening act on the tour Power Up from the Australian group, in 2024 and 2025, passing through North America, Europe and Oceania. According to a survey, the tour brought more than three million people to the shows.
In interviews given during the tour, Taylor Momsen described the professional and personal impact of living with the Australian quintet. The singer does not hide her pride at having been chosen for such an important position. At the same time, she guarantees that her relationship with her fellow veterans goes beyond music and has become one of friendship.
