Netflix has released a short video and the first photos of the fourth year of “Sex Education”, and they bring news.
The biggest is the addition of “Schitt’s Creek” star and award-winning creator Dan Levy to the cast of the attraction. Levy will play Thomas, Maeve’s (Emma Mackey) teacher in her new school. One of the photos of him even shows him next to the student.
The third photo also draws attention for reuniting Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Ruby (Mimi Keene) again, after the two broke up in season three. Unsurprisingly, fans ship this pair more than Otis and Maeve. But there is another detail that stands out in this image. Apparently Asa Butterfield has trained and bulked up, and with that he can no longer hide the fact that he is a 25-year-old actor who plays a teenager.
Still without an official synopsis, the new season will be something of a reboot of the series, due to the departure of the cast members and the arrival of news. The event that justifies the move is the closure of the Moordale school.
As a result, actresses Simone Ashley (Olivia), Rakhee Thakrar (Professor Sands), Patricia Allison (Ola) and Tanya Reynolds (Lily) will not appear in the new episodes and their absences will be explained in the context of the end of Moordale Alto. The idea is that not all of Mordale’s students and teachers have moved to the new school.
The creator, writer and executive producer of “Sex Education” Laurie Nunn continues to lead the series, which was renewed in September last year and does not yet have a date to start airing its new episodes.
