Actress Carla Diaz shared a photo on her Instagram since the start of filming on her new film, teasing fans with the caption: “Filming. And you know what?”
Apparently the fans know this. All the speculations point to the third feature film on the Richthofen case, which has already produced the double session “A Menina que Matou os Pais” and “O Menino que Matou Meus Pais”, both directed by Maurício Eça and released in 2021. Carla plays the role of the Suzane von Richthofen murders in the productions.
The post gave the tips by tagging the production company Santa Rita Filmes and Galeria Distribuidora, which were partners of “A Menina” and “O Menino”. Due to the pandemic, the feature films were negotiated in streaming and, instead of being released in theaters, they went straight to Amazon Prime Video in September last year, where they became big hits.
The script for the sequel is ready, as revealed by the author himself, Raphael Montes, on his Instagram. Also, last month, actress Gabi Lopes – who played Cristian Cravinhos’ girlfriend Carol – confirmed that the entire cast was hired for the third feature.
“There will be Suzane’s third film. It will be a unique and stronger film. It will show a part that the first ones did not show and it will mix versions [de Suzane e Daniel]. It has a new name, a new concept. We, the cast, have all been summed up, all the same. There are new people, more, it will be a ‘breath’. It will be very strong, ”the actress told Poddelas podcast.
The new function will show what happened in the four years between the crime and the trial.
In addition to Carla Diaz as Suzane von Richtofen, the original cast also features Leonardo Bittencourt as Daniel Cravinhos. The two films tell how the couple got involved and planned the death of their parents in 2002, with the help of the boy’s brother, Cristian (Allan Souza Lima).
Written by Ilana Casoy and Raphael Montes (from “Good Morning, Veronica”), the script was based on the testimony of the defendants during the 2006 trial. Each of the films carried the point of view of one of the inmates.
The new feature is expected to show what happened in the four years between the crime and the trial, but the producers have yet to make an official announcement. For this reason, there are no further details on the project.
