Tony Stark remembered in “She-Hulk”: he kept the promise he made to Bruce Banner

Iron Man’s successor has already been revealed through the trailer of ‘Black Panther 2’. However, Marvel fans are not willing to forget about the iconic Iron Man so quickly.

And apparently, the superhero company itself is not willing to let go of the character played by Robert Downey Jr., because in his latest production, “She-Hulk”, he was mentioned again.

Tribute to Tony Stark in the “She-Hulk” series

It’s clear that the events that happened in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ marked not only the timeline of the MCU, but also all of Marvel’s works.

The MCU phase 4 movies and series have made references to the characters who died facing Thanos and the occasional reference to what happened to the heroes who survived the Blip during the 5 years it lasted.

“She-Hulk,” starring Tatiana Maslany and Marc Ruffalo, was no exception. In addition to some references to Steve Rogers’ sex life, his first episode was also responsible for the memory of Iron Man.

It was revealed what Tony Stark was doing during the Blip, besides being with Pepper Potts and her daughter, Morgan. Hulk recounted that he and Tony spent a lot of time together during those five years, building a “tiki bar” together in Mexico.

Comically, Banner mentioned that he actually did most of the work, as Tony spent most of his time drinking and complaining about Captain America. As if that wasn’t enough, it was seen on the bar table that both Tony and Stark left their initials carved together (BB and TS), as a symbol of their friendship.

It was a nod to the movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron” because in it there is a scene between the two characters in which Tony Stark hints to Bruce Banner that he should drink margaritas and sunbathe on the beach in a place where he can to become gold instead of green. From what was seen in She-Hulk, Tony kept his promise and gave his friend a place to rest.

Friendship Between Bruce Banner and Tony Stark Proved in ‘She-Hulk’

In the MCU there are various jealousy-worthy friendships, such as Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton or Peter Parker and Ned Leeds. However, we must not forget that in the first ‘Avengers’ film the friendly relationship between Tony Stark and Bruce Banner stood out above other ties between the Avengers, as they both shared a certain interest in science and technology.

However, this link was not explored in depth in the following films of the superhero team, as there were other plots that needed to be explored for the well-being of the Marvel Cinematic Universe plot.

In that sense, ‘She-Hulk’ gave Marvel fans a chance to fill the void that existed in that friendship. That’s because it was revealed that not only did Tony Stark and Bruce Banner spend time together at his bar during the Blip, but the billionaire made an even bigger gesture for his friend.

And it’s that he built a lab at the beach house in Mexico so that Bruce Banner could incorporate the identities of both Hulk and Banner. Thanks to this, the existence of the Smart Hulk was triggered, who has the strength of the “green giant” and the human intelligence of Bruce Banner.

In “She-Hulk” Banner even mentions that Tony was telling him that the lab was a loan and that one day he would have to get it back.

In this sense, the close relationship between the two is revealed, because which friend builds you a laboratory on a beach so that you can control your most stormy inner demons?

Without a doubt, the friendship between Banner and Stark is worth exploring, and Marvel fans hope this homage to “She-Hulk” isn’t the only way it plays out.
