In April 2009, Cal Penn put his career on hold to join the Obama administration as an executive assistant in the White House Office of Public Engagement, dedicated to relations between national actors and interest groups. This position requires him to cease any film or television work he undertakes.
To film Harold and Kumar’s Merry Christmas, he is also forced to resign. After filming ended, he was reassigned, but this time to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. After the end of Barack Obama’s mandate, we were noticeably able to watch him in Season 3 of Designated Survivor.
Karin Parsons (2002 – 2018)

He resumed his original acting work with the horror film Dismissed (2017), followed by the comedy Banana Split (2018). He then portrayed the character of Trevor, who is jealous of Hardin, in Next: Chapter 2, then starred in Beautiful Disaster, a romantic comedy with Autumn Reeser.
Hilary Swank
Ten years later, in 2015, the actor took a year off from his career to devote himself to his father, who underwent a lung transplant. A year that would eventually last three, as he said Journal of Health Care In 2020:
“It should take a year because it takes so long to test the effectiveness of the transplant. The lung transplant is the most difficult because it’s a very delicate organ.
