Daughter of Leodaghan and Dame Sel, Yvain’s sister, Guinevere is married to King Arthur and thus Queen of Brittany. As Anne Girouard, she does not have an easy life in the castle during the series, often neglected by the king, who leaves her to spend time with her mistress.

In love with Arthur and wanting to give birth to a son on the throne of Brittany, Guinevere tries to find a solution to Arthur’s inactivity in the marriage bed. His attempts often end in failure, he is a source of disappointment to his mother and father. He is interested in the social life of the prison, culture and understands nothing about war. On the other hand, he knows Breton law well.

During Book IV, he leaves Camelot to escape with the knight Lancelot, who has separated and settled in the forest, rejecting Arthur’s authority and leading the Grail Quest. The experience will be mixed, with Guinevere resenting the control exerted by her new lover.

In Camelot – in the first part, we find out that Lancelot keeps Guinevere locked in the tower, who refuses to visit the slightest. Arthur, Perceval, and Caradoc arrive to rescue and free her. After ten years with no news, Guinevere accepts Arthur’s kiss.
