AlloCiné: What is your assessment of the first months at Un Si Grand Soleil?
Sylvain Bokara : I’m very happy. I came down in fear, like everyone I trust. But the teams are very good. It’s going very well. We can try a lot of things, little by little we have more freedom in the game, it’s really a very positive experience.
What did you like about Louis when you auditioned?
The only trait I knew about Louis when I was introduced to the character was that he had a phobia of school. In the sense that when he learns something, he forgets it almost immediately. So I tried to put some of my social phobia in there. At first it was quite fun to work with. To see that my experience can be Lewis’s.
And then pretty quickly I met Cesar Merrick, who plays Mark, and Colleen Ramos-Pinto, who plays Kira, and we hit it off right away.
A daily soap opera has a special shooting rhythm, quite intense because it never stops. Is it difficult to adapt to this rhythm when you are not used to it?
Yes, absolutely. You have to pick up the pace. At first we get tons of emails, all with text, we don’t understand (laughs). But that’s the reality of filming. At the start, we say to ourselves “I will have to work so much every day” and in fact you slowly learn your work method, acquire automaticity and get used to this rhythm. But it took a month I would say.
Also, I’m doing my conservatory in Paris, so it was a bit confusing going back and forth between Paris and Montpellier and juggling between the two. Between the roles played in the conservatory and the roles played by Louis. Especially since on Un Si Grand Soleil there are sometimes ten episodes between the two scenes we shoot in one day. I should meet you there.
But luckily we are helped by a script on set, a post-narrative and a coach who is more there to psychologically follow the character from one scene to the next. You just have to manage to be available for it all.
Your character is currently at the center of a great conspiracy. Although Louis accepted the relationship between Miriam and Marc and was excited about their baby project, Jacques’ suicide attempt blew everything up. Louis blames Miriam, and he decides to take revenge…
Louis knew that his grandfather was blackmailed, it was already difficult for him, because the family is a real bond for Louis. And here, knowing that Miriam is involved in this story and that L Cosmétique has filed a complaint, that’s a lot. Louis can no longer listen to the people around him, he takes a movie. And his parents can’t reason with him either. It was as if they knew he was going to screw up. But they are helpless.
Besides, I think Louis sees it all as a test of himself. He experienced all the events a little and now he wants to be no longer just a spectator of all this. He is in this state when he decides to take revenge.
And while Louis goes to start the fire at L Cosmétiques, Miriam is found dead at the same time…
Yes, Louis made a copy of Myriam’s keys to break into L Cosmétiques with gasoline cans. He succeeds, calmly. But it probably wasn’t the right day to go there, because Miriam was found dead that evening in the warehouse of L Cosmétiques. So Louis will have to suffer the consequences of his stupidity.
How will Louis and his father deal with Miriam’s death?
Louis and Mark both find themselves helpless in the face of Mirian’s death – Mark completely depressed and Louis completely guilt-ridden – and this shared misfortune eventually brings them together. Generally, they yell at each other when things don’t go well and things explode. They will really have to live everything together, both of them. ups and downs.
You mentioned Louis’ guilt. How will it be presented to the audience? Are we supposed to believe that maybe Louis is responsible for Miriam’s death? Assuming that maybe the case and the other characters were in the warehouse at the same time?
Yes, first off, we have half of the evening, which could indicate that Louis is responsible for Miriam’s death. But we don’t have all the details, we feel it’s more complicated. And finally, a little later, there will be a scene where Louis confides in his father because he can’t take the guilt anymore. And then we will understand better what happened.
What was your reaction when you heard what the screenwriters were preparing for Mirian’s character?
I was very sad because I finally met Pauline Paolini. We haven’t toured together for a long time and things were going very well between us. I heard this shortly before shooting the story and felt ashamed.
Especially since I think Pauline just wanted a little less shooting and that’s how it ended up. But perhaps his character would have taken up too much space otherwise. I do not know. Anyway, on a personal level, it really affected me, I was sad to see him go.
Another element that could further complicate things for Louis and his father is the fact that Leonor is actually behind Jacques’ misfortune because she wanted revenge on Marc through her father. Will the truth finally come out?
Yes, absolutely. This is the truth that breaks on the right bank of the wave. When everyone is thoroughly washed, bam, we apply a layer (laughs). It will be difficult for Louis, but above all it is Leonora who will bring about her own downfall.

Will the Moore family stay in Un Si Grand Soleil despite Miriam’s death? Will your character continue there?
Yes, of course. I read a little bit about what happens to Louis next. We will have a good story. There is a story with Kira that should be finished one day (laughs). We hope! There’s Mark, who could have a new girlfriend. And revealing what Leonor has done will not necessarily lead to very positive things for Mark and Leonor.
With Camille gone, do you already know if there are plans for new teenage characters to join Kira and Louis in high school?
Yes, there are two new characters coming soon. We have already shot the entire story with them. The characters are called Robin and Thais, played by Lucas Ivula and Lila Guira. Both of them are very cool, we get along very well, we have already created a good group. And there will also be new teachers. We are going to discover a new momentum in the school which is very nice.
Viewers love Kira and Louis very much. Will we finally have a love story between them?
Maybe (laughs). But Louis does not understand everything directly. It’s a bit difficult (laughs). Love is hard enough in real life, but for Louis, it’s something…
Do you have Louis wishes? Registries or plot types you want to play?
In general, because I’m coming from a very dramatic story about the Moore family, I wanted to do more comedy. And there I had a little that we filmed a while ago. So I’d like to continue exploring this registry. I got used to this clumsy Louis, so I try to protect him more and more. Moments of real awkwardness, of misunderstanding, I really like playing that.
