John King, the New Zealand actor from the TV series Spartacus, was a one role man. After getting his start on the Starz-produced peplum series, King made a name for himself in the role of Rascos, one of the gladiators of Batiatus, played by John Hannah.
Manu Bennett, the interpreter of Crixus in the TV series, testified to King’s dignity in the face of the disease and how his positive attitude on the set allowed him to go from an extra to an important figure in the series without having to answer:

A fierce fighter who appears in the main series and its predecessor spin-off Gods of the Arena, Raskos is at first hesitant to join Spartacus’ group, then decides to join his fight against Batiatus. The character gains more importance from the second season.
According to him familyJohn King has been fighting cancer since last January. He died on August 16 at the age of 49 surrounded by loved ones.
Spartacus Season 1 lead actor Andy Whitfield had already died of cancer in 2011, replaced by Liam McIntyre in Seasons 2 and 3.
