Disney + releases trailer for documentary Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return; look

The Disney + platform released on Monday (18) the trailer for “Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return”, a documentary that will show the public behind the scenes of the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series.

This new documentary will arrive on Disney + on September 8 this year. The production will focus on the process of bringing Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan back to the screen for the first time since the release of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” in May 2005.

The announcement of the documentary was given via the official Twitter of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

“Obi-Wan Kenobi” is a story considered epic by both fans and critics, which began more than 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith”. In the backstage film, unpublished images, colorful personal stories and extraordinary moments will be shown, ”says the synopsis.

“Han Solo” prevented “Obi-Wan Kenobi” from being a film trilogy

“Obi-Wan Kenobi” had its final episode, but the Disney + series writer revealed that were it not for the poor performance of “Han Solo”, the story would have become a trilogy in theaters.

In an interview with The directStuart Beattie, writer of “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, talked about the construction of the series starring Ewan McGregor and how initially the plans were that it would actually be “a complete trilogy”.

Despite receiving credits for a few episodes of the series, Beattie revealed that she wrote the script for the original film (which never happened) on which the series was based, stating that she never collaborated with the writers of the series. Furthermore, he claimed that the problem for “Obi-Wan Kenobi” – the film – never happened, it was the box office failure of “Han Solo”.
