According to Rian Johnson, director, screenwriter and producer of Between knives and secrets 2the title of the film is a reference to the expressiveness of Detective Blanc, but also to a song by the Beatles from 1986.
Johnson says he’s always willing to find something fun for Blanc, and that was clear from the start. “I’ll be very honest,” says the director. “I literally took my iPhone and looked in the music library for one with the word ‘glass’. And the first thing that came up, as I’m a huge Beatles fan, was’glass onion“, to complete.
