Tokyo Vice: We know the release date for Michael Mann’s series on CANAL+!

Tokyo Vice, only on myCANAL.

The longer the better! And the least we can say is that Tokyo Vice was able to live up to the expectations of the French audience. After the success of its broadcast on HBO Max in the US last April, the series hosted by Ansel Elgort is finally coming to CANAL + and myCANAL.

Mark Thursday, September 15th in your diary! It is on this date that you can finally dive into this fascinating and true story. Adapted from the autobiography of investigative journalist Jake Adelstein, the 8-episode series follows the incredible fortunes of this American living in Tokyo.

In the 1990s, while looking for a job at a major daily newspaper, he met an inspector from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who was fighting organized crime. If this person quickly becomes his mentor, he also opens the door to the world of the Japanese mafia.

At the same time, Adelstein crosses paths with Samantha, another immigrant who works as a hostess at the city’s famous club, and Sato, a yakuza whose clan controls the establishment…

Playing on the ambivalence of its protagonist and deftly denouncing organized crime in Japan, Tokyo Vice fascinates with its plot and impresses with its direction. Series executive producer Michael Mann (The Heat) directs the first episode for a rendering worth a detour!

And if Ansel Elgort once again emphasizes his talent by playing Jake Adelstein, the same goes for Ken Watanabe (Inception) in the costume of a police inspector and Rachel Keller (Fargo) in Samantha Porter. The icing on the cake: Season 2 is already booked! So every reason is good to get started on Tokyo Vice, starting September 15th on CANAL+ and myCANAL.
