Only ten days left until you finally discover The Lord of the Rings series on Amazon Prime Video! To better book its expectations, the platform today presented a trailer for its new original production called The Rings of Power!
Set at the end of the Second Age of Middle-earth, several millennia before the adventures of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, the series follows J.R.R.
Morfid Clarke’s portrayal of the Queen of the Elves appears in the series as a more militant version, driven by a spirit of vengeance after the death of her brother Finrod, compared to Cate Blanchett’s portrayal in The Lord of the Rings and Bilbo’s Rings trilogies. The Hobbit signed Peter Jackson. Robert Aramaio (a young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones) also appeared in the films as half-Elrond here.
In general, the series traces the origins of the Rings of Power created by Celebrimbor, but also the rise of the evil wizard Sauron and his one ring designed to bend other ring holders to his will. Even before it aired, The Rings of Power broke the record for the most expensive series ever produced (with a reported budget of around 500 million for its first season!).
The first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings series will air on September 2, followed by one episode every Friday exclusively on the Amazon Prime Video platform.
