Netflix’s latest South Korean hit, “A Lawyer Extraordinary” was the most viewed series of the week on the streaming platform, with 77.43 million hours viewed, and that’s seven weeks after its release.

Production is a rare phenomenon, because each week it adds more audience than the previous one. This can be explained by the fact that Netflix made its episodes available weekly and not as a marathon, fueling a gradual discovery of the attraction.

Originally made for TV in South Korea, the production follows the title’s extraordinary attorney, who has an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and is starting his career in a large law firm. He has an extremely high IQ of 164, exceptional memory and creative thinking, but suffers from low emotional intelligence and poor social skills. As a result, many see her as a strange person, creating some obstacles in her life.

The role of the lawyer Woo Young-woo is played by Park Eun-bin, a well-known dramatic actress who recently starred in the costume series “The King’s Affection”, also available on the platform.

Already renewed for its second season, “A Lawyer Extraordinary” took 1st place on Netflix’s international (non-English) series in six of the seven available weeks. It only dropped briefly to 2nd place in its third week.

With such an audience, the attraction is already the sixth most viewed international series (not spoken in English) on Netflix of all time, with 341.5 million hours consumed.

Among the English-language attractions, “Sandman” maintained its lead for the third consecutive week, amassing over 77.24 million displayed hours, just behind “A Lawyer Extraordinary”.

The list of titles in English for the week from 15 to 21 August recorded only one novelty: the debut of the miniseries “Echoes” in sixth position with 25.6 million hours watched. All the other titles are remnants of the previous ranking, with “I Never …” remaining stable in second place with 59.5 million hours viewed, compared to 55 million hours on the opening weekend.
