With the same format as the American reality show, Queer Eye Brasil has come to Netflix in all respects. Commanded by the five fabulous Brazilians, Fred Nicácio, Guto Requena, Luca Scarpelli, Rica Benozzati and Yohan Nicolas, the first season combines emotions, breaking prejudices, connections and stimulating stories.
With six 48-minute episodes, we follow the heroes and heroines, Luciana, Luciana, Sebá, João, Rafael and Tânia, as they face their dilemmas, open their lives, their pain and their wounds. Our protagonists let themselves be carried away by the charisma of the fabulous, which comes to improve their self-esteem and quality of life by transforming five areas of their lives: well-being, design, culture, style and beauty.
As in the gringo version, each new story changes not only the life of the protagonists of the episode, but also the vision of the world of the presenters. Between tears, identification and memories, the presenters also open up to the public, telling their personal experiences and how each case has touched them in some way.
Below, meet the 5 fabulous brs:
Guto Requena (Design) – Architect by training, Guto believes that design is a “tool for transformation and activism”. A card fanatic, he was born in Sorocaba, but has lived in São Paulo (capital) for many years.
Yohan Nicolas (Beauty) – Born in France, Yohan has lived in Brazil for nine years. He is a hairdresser in São Paulo and aims to deconstruct the common sense that worrying about aesthetics / looks “is not for everyone”.
Rica Benozzati (Style) – Stylist and communicator, Rica has two projects aimed at deconstructing the superficial image that fashion often brings, focusing on transforming people’s lives.
Luca Scarpelli (Culture) – Trans man, trained in advertising and nearing completion of his training in performing arts, Luca is a pop culture enthusiast and an expert in youth behavior.
Fred Nicácio (Welfare) – Doctor working in the field of dermatology, with training in physiotherapy, Fred was born in Rio de Janeiro. He has a plural view of good habits, food, physical activity and well-being.
