Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes video from the Wandinha Addams series, in which the creators and cast comment on the production.

In the video, screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (the duo that created “Smallville” and the sci-fi martial arts “Into the Badlands”) are joined by director Tim Burton (of various comics and teen horror films, including “The Ghosts Have Fun “and” Edward Scissorhands “) to praise actress Jenna Ortega (” Scream 5 “), who plays the title character.

The preview shows the star’s dedication, with fencing and cello lessons, as well as her concern for developing a peculiar way of walking and looking, and above all her pride in showing Wandinha as the Latin character she has always been ( after all, his father calls Gomez).

The series will follow the youngest of the Addams family (who is called Wednesday in English) as a young adult, starting her academic life at Nevermore Academy, where she will face some challenges: mastering her emerging psychic abilities, countering a monstrous wave of murders that terrorize the city and solve a supernatural mystery involving her parents 25 years ago, all while navigating their new complicated relationships without losing her lovable morbid traits.

In addition to Jenna Ortega, the cast includes Catherine Zeta Jones (“The Mask of Zorro”) and Luis Guzmán (“Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”) as his parents Morticia and Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez (“A Wrinkle over time “)”) as his brother Ugly (Pugsley). And then there are the teachers and students of Nevermore: Gwendoline Christie (the Brienne of “Game of Thrones”), Thora Birch (Gamma in “The Walking Dead” ), Riki Lindhome (“Knives and Secrets”), Jamie McShane (“Mank”), Hunter Doohan (“Your Honor”), Georgie Farmer (“Treadstone”), Moosa Mostafa (“The Last Bus”), Emma Myers ( “Girl in the Basement”), Naomi J. Ogawa (“Skylin3s”), Joy Sunday (“Dear White People”) and Percy Hynes White (“The Gifted”), not to mention the cameo of Christina Ricci, the Wandinha of two live-action “The Addams Family” movies from the 1990s.

For now, the premiere is only scheduled for “soon”.
