Tonight on TV: The end of a saga that has haunted us for more than 10 years

Every day, AlloCiné recommends watching a movie (again) on TV. Tonight: The final chapter of the magical saga.

In 2001, Harry Potter on the Sorcerer’s Stone was released, an adaptation of the first volume of the saga of the same name written by JK Rowling. Ten years later, the eighth and final cinematic installment, directed by David Yates, completes this magical story that audiences grew up with.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is truly a coming-of-age movie: like their fans, the three heroes have grown up well and come of age before reaching their final showdown. As expected, this long-awaited sequel has a great alchemy between action (especially remember the battles at Hogwarts), drama (the final duel between Harry and Voldemort) and emotion (it is impossible not to shed a tear during the epilogue). In short, pure entertainment with enhanced 3D special effects.

The latter feature would prove to be the franchise’s biggest commercial success, crossing the symbolic barrier of one billion dollars worldwide in just 19 days! With an average viewer rating of 4.2 out of 5, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 AlloCiné’s highest rated episode of the saga by internet users.
