Amazon Prime Video has released the poster and trailer for the American remake of “Good Night Mom”, released in 2014 by Austrian horror directors Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz.
In the new version, twins Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti (who drove Nicole Kidman crazy in “Big Little Lies”) terrorize Naomi Watts (“The Divergent Series: Allegiant”).
The film revolves around the twin brothers’ reaction to their mother’s return home – a remote rural property – after undergoing cosmetic surgery. The face covered in bandages makes the boys suspect that this is not really their mother.
The Crovetti brothers seem to have a lot of fun playing horror, because they recently also filmed “Witch Hunt”, about runaway witches, together. Cameron is still in the series “The Boys”, where the son of the hero / villain Homelander (Homelander) lives.
The remake of “Goodnight Mommy” (American title of the Austrian film) was directed by Matt Sobel, who has only one feature in his resume: the independent drama “Take Me to the River” (2015), unreleased in Brazil.
The first is scheduled for September 16.
