Aquaman 2 and Shazam 2 delayed again: When are the DC movies coming out?

It’s still rolling at Warner and DC! Originally expected to release on December 21, “Shazam 2” has finally been pushed back to March 2023. It takes the place of “Aquaman 2”, which will be released on Christmas of the same year.

It’s moving again on Warner and DC’s side! For the past few weeks, superheroes have been facing a real storm. After the cancellation of Batgirl, which was expected to air in 2023 on HBO Max, the new ones are called Shazam and Aquaman.

Originally scheduled for a late May 2023 release, Shazam! Rage of the Gods was rescheduled for December 21st of this year to meet Avatar 2, which prompted several jokes about its director David F. From Sandberg and her co-star Zachary Levy.

Although its trailer was unveiled at last July’s San Diego Comic-Con, the controversy won’t finally happen as the feature film has been pushed back to March 17 in the US.

A slot previously occupied by… Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Who will have to wait until December 25, 2023 for its release in US theaters. Or a year behind its original release date, as it was supposed to meet Avatar 2 in theaters before the first upheaval on the calendar.

And that’s when Ben Affleck just made a cameo in a James Wan movie. Because test screening audiences didn’t understand the presence of Michael Keaton, who was then called upon to become the DC Universe’s Batman on film, due to the upheavals caused by the Flash storyline.

When Tim Burton’s Man-Bat adapted his scenes, it was scheduled to release after Aquaman 2 before the dates were changed.

Reshoot in front of you?

Let’s change it again, because The Flash, despite the uncertainty surrounding its star Ezra Miller’s failings, is due out today before Aquaman 2 on June 23rd. We don’t know if the filming will go ahead or not, but this is one of the two feature films that will not be spared this delay, the reason for which is not specified, although it is clear that it is related to the new strategy implemented. Warner’s side, after the recent merger with Discovery.

Fronted by Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam is still expected in France on October 19. And it will be DC’s last feature film of 2022.
