After spending the first 15 years of his career almost entirely as a film actor, aside from the pilots who haven’t advanced, Scott Caan first shot the television script about that status quo with a recurring role in Surroundings then with a ten-year starring role in the influential CBS (if it is annoying for its reasons ) dramatic reboot hawaii five-0. After ten years playing the role of Danno Williams on Aloha State, Caan retired from the small screen to write, produce and star in the upcoming drama. A day as a lionand it was announced last September he would return to CBS for the drama topanga . The fate of that project is unclear at the moment, but Caan has now signed on for another major streaming series that looks set for a quicker start.
Scott Caan will star in the new drama Alertaccording to Varietyand fans need not worry that this project will fail at any point as Fox has already confirmed its direct-to-series order in May 2022. For the new drama, Caan will join previous cast Dania Ramirez, another Surroundings veteran whose last few years have been spent working on more fantastic TV series like Once upon a time Yes The success that will soon return from Netflix Greedy – greedy – greedy .
Alert will be set in Philadelphia (rather than the previous Los Angeles setting) and will focus on the officers who make up a missing persons unit. Scott Caan will play a character named Devon who, surprisingly, is not inherently tall within the MPU. A clever and exceptionally brave boy, Devon was in his element of him during the unpredictable turmoil of the Iraq war, but after his eleven-year-old son is gone, his world crumbles beneath him.
Six years after the boy’s first disappearance, Devon’s existence has only grown darker as he lives in the ruins of his ruined marriage. Then one day he gets a call from his ex Nikki (Dania Ramirez), who this is the senior supervisor of a missing persons unit, in an attempt to persuade him to help locate a young kidnapping victim. While there are undoubtedly procedural elements involved, it already seems clear that this show is meant to connect things. And because it’s not a premium cable network, the odds are much higher that the child will be found alive before all is said and done.
Alert was born from an idea of a longtime writer and producer of The black list, John Eisendrath, who will also executive produce and showrunner on the drama Scott Caan. Given Caan’s recent efforts to put more creative effort into the writing stages, it is certainly possible that he may enter the writing room of this project in the future as well.
Since it’s still in the release stage, it probably means Alert has a production window in mind for the foreseeable future, although we likely won’t see Scott Caan in the role until late spring or summer 2023.
