Writer and producer Steve Blackman (creator of “The Umbrella Academy” series) is developing a new attraction based on the game “Horizon Zero Dawn”.
The story of the post-apocalyptic RPG takes place a thousand years into the future, in a world dominated by primitive tribes and high-tech machines, all built on the skeleton of the “Ancients” – which are the ruins of the United States.
When these once peaceful machines begin to hunt down all life, a young woman named Aloy discovers that the only chance to save her world is to fight to find out what happened in the past.
“Horizon Zero Dawn” was released in 2017 and has sold over 20 million copies.
In addition to this series, the producer is also working on “Orbital”, a science fiction film set on the International Space Station. This project was created from an original idea by screenwriters David T. Lynch and Keith Lynch (“Hostage of the Game”), who developed the attraction in collaboration with Blackman.
Still lacking a preview date, the two series are part of an exclusivity agreement between Blackman and Netflix to produce new series and movies for the streaming service.
It will have a more relaxed schedule with the series finale “The Umbrella Academy,” which has been renewed for its fourth and final season.
