A Better Life Preview: Episode Summary for Friday, August 26, 2022 [SPOILERS]

Eric threatens Simon’s neighbor with a gun, but Roger Mallard maintains his innocence. He admits that he moved the water from the canal, but he is not a murderer. He respects Simon because he knows his family well.

If Simon doesn’t wake up, he will never recover. Eric does not believe and does not allow himself to be softened. Roger then challenges the ex-cop to a shootout. Eric finishes the gun down and leaves Mallard’s property without saying a word.

The next day, Eric comes to Simon’s bedside and tells him he’s losing his leg. He is still violent and almost kills his neighbor. At the same time, Simon opens his eyes for 2 seconds. Eric then goes to find the nurse.

He explains to him that he couldn’t have woken the young man up, the monitoring would have warned them. He also explains to Eric that after an emotional shock, the lack of rest leads to the development of hallucinations.

According to him, the ex-policeman would fall asleep for 1-2 seconds without knowing it and dream that Simon opened his eyes. The nurse advises him to go and rest. He also reassures her, telling her that she would be the first to know if Simon woke up.

Back at the farm, Eric decides to get rid of the crow, convinced that it has brought them trouble, but it has mysteriously disappeared.

Mirta confesses to Father Luke. He tries to fight his feelings but to no avail. She admits to him that she thinks about him all the time. But Father Luke believes they have no choice but to keep fighting.

Myrta cooks in the presbytery. Father Luke cuts his finger and tries to help. He’s barely bleeding, but Myrta rushes to look. He kisses and the young man does not pull away. However, he quickly comes to his senses and hammers his friend that he can’t do it.

Mirta points out to him that he is not the only one responsible. Father Luke sees only one solution to their problem, and that is for them not to see each other anymore. He asks Mirta to leave immediately.

Back in the Zephyr, Bastien and Luna chartered the boat until the end of the month. They have planned a sea trip with their family and are expecting adults. Mirta sees two lovers kissing in the lobby of the hotel and remembers her kiss with her father Luke. Luna notices her mother’s confused look and offers to stay with her. But he refuses and encourages them to enjoy the good weather.

Leaving the room alone, Mirta feels his chest. She prays to God to help her when she visits Father Lou. Surprised because he didn’t expect to see her. Mirta lets him go. The young man tells her that he can’t stop thinking about the kiss and is ashamed that he treated her so badly.

Mirta admits to him that she is happy that he is there. He was so afraid that he would never see her again. Luke admits to her that he can’t bear to see her again. They kiss again and share an intimate moment despite the ban.

Some time later, when Father Luke is getting dressed, he sees a cross above Mirta’s bed. He then leaves the hotel room.

Several fire outbreaks have been reported in recent days. Baptiste suspects that the gunman is showing up everywhere to cover his tracks. Then the young man is surprised by a mysterious message from Justine. The young woman tells him that she was sending a message to Julie.

At Mistral, Emma asks Barbara if she can keep Mathis because she wants to investigate Justine. He suspects that he is hiding something and lying to Baptiste. Barbara warns him that this investigation could turn against him.

But Emma doesn’t want to let go and takes a risk. The young woman then follows Justine to the villa. Olivier Jourdan, the sect’s guru, hugs Baptiste’s girlfriend. Emma captures the scene with her phone camera.

Killian was unable to go to Thomas and Gabrielle’s shelter. He leaves a message on Lola’s answering machine to let her know. The young man sees no other choice but to tell Thomas and Gabrielle the truth, but before he can reveal his sister’s secret, Riva is shocked to discover that someone has slashed 4 tires on his car.

A few hours later, Killian runs into Sunale at the Mistral Bar. He then admits that he realized he was covering for Lola and that he was the one who slashed the tires. The young man thanks her and confides that Lola led Thomas and Gabrielle to believe that she was going to work at the shelter, when in fact she was hiking alone.

Meanwhile, in the forest, Lola wanders and torments herself. As she begins to cry, Betty appears and provokes the young girl. Although she is well aware that she is hallucinating, Lola is affected by Betty’s criticism of her appearance and Noah’s romantic relationship.

Later, the teenager has a new hallucination. This time he sees Betty with Noah. Lola hangs around and continues to receive visits from Betty. He imagines killing a young woman.
